Overview

This highly illustrated textbook is aimed at the veterinarian in practice or training interested in all types of endocrine diseases of dogs and cats. The book is organised by body system and is case oriented. Chapters deal with separate endocrine glands, beginning with a brief review of the morphology and physiology of the gland, complete with drawings depicting the functional principles. This is followed by descriptions of the disorders of the gland with up-to-date information on diagnosis and treatment. Numerous clinical cases illustrate the presenting symptoms and the results following treatment. The final chapters contain diagnostic and therapeutic protocols, as well as algorithms for problems such as alopecia, polyuria, and weight loss.
