Author Information

Jack S. Kozuchowski received his Bachelors of Science from Syracuse University and his Master of Science from SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry. His seminal scientific accomplishment was a study showing that aquatic vascular plants growing in contaminated soil can uptake mercury through their roots, transport it up to the leaves and emit it into the atmosphere. The study was published in Nature with co-author Dr. David L. Johnson, an environmental chemist at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry at Syracuse. Kozuchowski served as the Environmental Director for the City of Danbury, Connecticut, from 1979-2006. He was also president of Kozuchowski Environmental Consulting . Now retired, Kozuchowski is committed to educating the public on the need to resolve the climate change challenge to our society. Brian M. Epp has practiced a multiplicity of creative endeavors throughout his life including his work as a published author The Art of Violin Retouching. He has worked with Jack Kozuchowski as a consultant on projects relating to climate change, and as a website developer for a public conservation organization in Danbury, Connecticut. Epp is a writer and philosopher, a graphic designer, a teacher and a speaker. He is also a futurist with strong views toward creating a more reasoned balance with our environment. His perspective is summarized as follows: When the planet suffers, so do we. We hope this way of thinking will be uppermost in your mind as you follow along, traveling through the many doors we have opened for you in this book.
