With an illustrious career spanning over four decades, Deb has become an industry icon, celebrated for his transformative impact on mining geology, quality control, and water resources management. His career is distinguished by a stellar academic foundation, having earned a first-class MSc in Applied Geology from Jadavpur University, India in 1973, and further distinguished by the prestigious MMGI qualification. Deb's professional journey began with groundbreaking roles as a Senior Technical Assistant at the Central Ground Water Board and a Junior Research Fellow at Jadavpur University, where he laid the groundwork for his future successes. Deb's career is marked by monumental achievements and a legacy of excellence. He led quality control operations for manganese ores on Mindanao Island, Philippines, setting unprecedented standards for the industry. His pioneering work in identifying and surveying low-grade iron ore resources in Assam and discovering crucial groundwater sources in Meghalaya has been transformative, resolving severe water scarcity issues for the Lumslong Cement plant and bolstering regional resource management. He has published the following books: ""An Introduction To Mine Hydrogeology"" and ""An Introduction To Petroleum Hydrogeology"".
