OverviewEach of us deserves a life where our dreams can be realized. We want to live life, not merely exist in it. Certainly the past plays a part in our development. No matter where we go, the one person we can never escape from is ourselves. Thus, it is essential to confront our issues, and learn the lessons that they bring. Cleaning Out The Closet represents exactly that, learning and letting go. If we are truly honest with ourselves, we will agree that most of us do not like change. It's amazing to realize just how much we are willing to put up with, and settle for in order to hold on to what is familiar. It doesn't seem to matter how much pain a situation causes, nor the warning signs we're given. We allow fear and comfort to keep us frozen on the runway, instead of taking flight towards a future that could be wonderful. We place way too much value on the negative opinions of others. We find it hard to forgive those who have wronged us, and even more difficult to forgive ourselves for past mistakes. We've been led to believe that if we put a little effort into ourselves, we are neglecting others and are selfish. This pattern goes on for so many years until our lives become a closet filled with clutter and dust. Thus, each time we attempt to move, we step on a nail or trip over a box. So much junk from the past surrounds us, that there is no room for anything else. Carrying that sack of garbage on our backs only causes our bones to become brittle and weak. And if we are not careful, those weak bones will break. Peace of mind has no place to reside, and where there is no peace, there is no progress. Life will always be filled with challenges. However, these obstacles are only tools used to teach us. Once you've mastered the lesson, then let it go. Only when you have cleaned up the mess you've been holding on to, will you be able to see what is waiting on the other side.
