Overview

This is the third book from the book series 'Books with a cause' - with a great Story, a Movement and a Cause behind each book. The inspiring text about the epic discovery of the cave Claudio Skilan in Italy is written by Clara Ferlatti, writer, poem and caver from Trieste. The photos and text about a two years photographing in the cave is made by Bogdan Kladnik, author of 59 books from Slovenia. Discovered in 1991 by the Carlo Debeljak Group, the Claudio Skilan cave has become, after several years of explorations, the largest subterranean system in the karst of Trieste, with an uninterrupted sequence of galleries and vertical shafts exceeding 6 km in length and reaching a maximum depth of 378 m. The cave is renowned not only for its huge dimensions, but also for the presence of unique calcite formations.
