Amrita and the Trees Amrita loves the trees. The beautiful, big, green trees. The leaves keep her cool. But one day men come with axes. 'The King wants wood,' they say. They chop and chop. Then it rains and there are no trees to hold the mud and water. The river floods the village. The villagers build their village again. And the new trees grow big and strong.
