Dr. Rob Brosh's Classic Rock History is a thoroughly detailed examination of one of America's most popular and celebrated genres of music. The book charts the development of rock from its earliest days of Blues and Gospel music, working its way through the British Invasion, heavy metal, grunge, and ending on the modern rock music of today. Classic Rock History should be a great resource for students of music and fans of rock overall. As child of the 1960s and a professional musician myself, the book elaborated on many of my favorite artists and familiar movements from memory, but also introduced a lot of new details that were very welcome. -Jason Gianni, Yamaha Recording Artist Many music history books are written from a critical perspective but lack the hard-earned expertise and knowledge of the craft that only a professional musician can offer. Author Information

Dr. Rob Brosh has been a faculty member at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia for the past twenty years. There, Rob has taught Rock History, American Music History, World Music, Jazz History, and Drumset Ensemble. Rob also teaches at Temple University and has taught at Rowan University and the New School in New York. Rob received his Master's and Doctor of Arts from New York University. Rob performed in the showrooms in Atlantic City as a drummer and percussionist for numerous musical acts and has co-led the Raw Deal Band. Raw Deal has released two CD's titled Raw Deal and Encoded. Rob also leads The Rob Brosh Jazz Group and released a solo jazz CD titled Bartok. Rob has also played with countless rock bands throughout his career. Rob has composed a number of drumset duets with his innovative duo ensemble DrumSquared. They released two CD's titled DrumSquared and The Truth. Aly Castle is a designer and illustrator based in Philadelphia, PA. She studied fine art and craft at the University of the Arts. Currently, she freelances for multiple local businesses.
