At the time of writing, Stephen Brown is experience level 186 on Clash of Clans. He is known in the game as Samuel and for more than a year he has been playing at the second highest level in the world, in a game that now exceeds 25 million players. The author started playing Clash of Clans in October 2012, after his youngest son (Samuel) set up an account on his iPad. He became leader of the Templar Knights and other associated Templar clans in late December 2012. The Templar Knights remain a sustained global top 50 clan. In real life, Stephen owns and runs a specialist investment company working with projects or companies specifically engaged in disruptive innovation. He has pioneered and sold intellectual assets to a Chamber of Commerce, sat on the Board of Directors of a major multinational company, and has been one of the eighteen voting trustees in Scotland's largest charity - the Church of Scotland (membership over 500,000 people). He currently sits on the Board of a number of other companies and charities as a non-executive Director. Stephen lives on the beautiful west coast of Scotland with his wife of almost twenty years, and their four children.
