Based on a real mountain beaver that lives in the author's yard... A shy secretive critter, Clark the Mountain Beaver, lives alone in his burrows. When he does venture out into the world, he is always being confused with the more popular American Beaver. It's a little frustrating because other critters never seem to know who he is or that he even exists. One day, Clark decides to go on a big adventure to meet the critters that live around him. Throughout this adventure, Clark learns about friendship, trust, and understanding that it is okay to be who you are. Written in the classic style of many of our beloved children's books. Clark the Mountain Beaver and His Big Adventure is a longer form picture book divided into sections for each animal Clark meets - all in an effort to teach kids about these different animals. As for Clark, most people don't even know mountain beaver's exist so he has a lot of explaining to do! Colorful illustrations help bring Clark's Adventure to life.
