Author Information

Manuel Bataguas has devoted more than 40 years to helping immigrants and their families. He works as a notary public, justice of the peace, translator, provides English instruction, and assists those seeking American citizenship. He was educated and raised at the Casa Pia de Lisboa (orphanage), and was a second sergeant in Batalhão de Articharia 1864 in Angola. Bataguas wrote Citizenship Study Guide to help future American citizens born in foreign countries. Manuel and his wife, Louriem, live in Connecticut. He has two daughters, Paula and Carla, from his first marriage.
