A thought provoking read; Deb courageously steps into her truth to shine a light on intra-familial child sexual assault and the family systems that perpetuate and conceal it; Your journey has not defined you as a person, but one that will inspire others to stand up and be heard and hopefully let the healing begin; Deb is a wonderful example of how to take back your power and become stronger through self-discovery after experiencing the trauma of intra-familial abuse. This book helped me understand the importance of listening and being present for those needing support and brave enough to speak up. This is an extraordinary personal account of her journey and what has helped in her healing process; It is heartbreaking to imagine that we need a book such as Circling The Wagons. That society needs a guide book on how to navigate intra-familial sexual abuse. Deb delivers a candid insight into the internal dialogue of the survivor, whilst gently offering understanding and hope for healing; At times I cried for the little girl whose innocent childhood was so horribly derailed and then for the protection she was denied, the protection she had every right to expect. But I also cried for the adult who has so bravely and determinedly smashed open the dirty little secret hidden by families for generations.
