Author Information

Joan Lowery Nixon (1927-2003) studied journalism at the University of Southern California. At USC, she met her husband, Hershell, a United States Navy officer and a geologist, and was a member of Kappa Delta sorority. She sold her books at various schools in Los Angeles before becoming a full-time writer, authoring more than 140 books. Christina Moore has appeared off Broadway and in regional theaters, and she has narrated more than four hundred audiobooks, including children's fiction and young-adult novels. She has received fourteen Earphones Awards, and critics have consistently praised her ability to convey a book's distinctive emotional tone. She has a husband, two kids, and three dogs.
