Overview

The focus of Churches of the New Testament is on the churches of the first century. This includes inductive observations from the text of Scripture, a complete listing of all scriptural passages relevant to each church, and occasional theological affirmations. An imaginary visit to these churches provides the sense of each church's unique culture. Twenty gatherings explicitly named as churches are described. Another forty-three likely church communities are also described. Finally, twenty-two regions with churches are identified.

Stephen P. Ansley resides in Riverside, California where he has served as a non-staff teacher at a community church for many years. He has a special interest in ecclesiology, leanings toward non-structural ecumenism, and a passion for the mission of the church. He has previously authored Serving One Another: A Study of New Testament Gifts (3 volumes), The Church: An annotated Bibliography, and The Church: Neglected Themes of Ecclesiology.
