Overview

One dark stormy evening a senior NASA researcher is on her way home from work and her security detail vehicle breaks down. She stops for coffee and when she gets back in her car, she hears a cold voice. Rough yet somehow well-informed, he demands that she open the secure case she has in her possession and when she refuses, he forces her to drive to the coast. At the breakwater in the Ponce Inlet, amidst wild conditions, things begin to go really wrong for both abductor and abductee. Early next morning, Alex Jamieson from Australia takes a walk on Smyrna Beach and finds a broken case with a single USB stick inside. Later, on his flight home to Australia, he cracks the security on the drive and is astonished by a number of elements of what he reads within. Mars rover Perseverance entered a lava tube and documents were discovered in a vault deep under the Martian surface. The text was secretly translated, edited and was in the process of being analysed.
