The Christian Mystic Tarot explores a central concept in life by examining humanity's dance with death and quest for eternal life. WARNING: THIS IS ONLY A GUIDEBOOK AND DOES NOT INCLUDE A DECK OF TAROT CARDS. The cards are rich in symbolism, and were created by revitalizing the works for various Christian Mystics over the past several centuries whose works are now in the public domain. Throughout history, Christian Mystics and Alchemists have embarked on the most fundamental spiritual quest, which has been referred to by names such as the Quest for the Holy Grail, the Philosopher's Stone, or Elixir of Life, or the Completion of the Great Work. All of these titles refer to the same quest; the efforts of mankind to overcome original sin, purify their souls, and triumph over death. The Christian Mystic Tarot documents this journey with recreations of wood engravings by various Christian Mystics and Alchemists who devoted their lives to that pursuit. This Tarot Deck is unique in that it is made up of 90 cards; divided into five suits in the Minor Arcana, and 24 cards in the Major Arcana. This deck is somewhat abstract and is loaded with symbolism. The images and symbolism are related to the Judeo-Christian worldview, but the cards do not address any specific events in the Bible. If you are looking for a tarot deck based on Biblical events (with key words on each card for easy reading), check out the author's other deck titled, 'The Tarot of the Most High: Reflections on the Bible.
