As both counselor educators and deeply committed followers of Christ, we recognize the need more than ever to integrate a Christian perspective on issues in the professional counseling field. The primary motivation for this book is to empower faith-based CACREP-accredited counseling programs to integrate robust Christian principles and values into the counseling profession while upholding and honoring the ethical standards outlined in the American Counseling Association's Code of Ethics. This work comprises the perspectives of 55 contributing Christian authors from many institutions who are committed to the integration of Christian faith and theology in the counseling profession. Each of the authors is committed to the following core values in their writing: Decidedly Christian. This book is unreservedly grounded in Christian faith and theology, and each author is a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ. Professional Counselor Identity-Focused. This book aims to provide distinct guidance tailored toprofessional counselors and the counseling profession. Many Voices. This book encompasses a multitude of contributors united by their shared theological perspectives and collaborative reflection on Christian integration. Culturally Humble. We emphasize the importance of cultural humility, ensuring that both women and men, along with individuals from racial and ethnic minority backgrounds, have their voices heard as authors in this book. We place the Kingdom of God above cultural distinctions, while wholeheartedly celebrating the multitude of Christian voices from various backgrounds, tribes, and nations. Ethically Aligned. This book honors and upholds the ACA Code of Ethics and thoughtfully addresses values conflicts that may arise related to religious or spiritual beliefs. Spiritual Formation. Our aim extends beyond intellectual and emotional growth for counselors and counseling students; we also strive to foster spiritual development for counselors in training. This book is designed to be utilized across the curriculum in a faith-based CACREP-accredited counseling program by applying Christian integration across the CACREP standards.
