OverviewThis book is a collection of antique miniature Buddha statues which were originally created in China (from 618-1911 AD), for protection on long journeys, healing sickness, and creating wealth in business. Made of brass, bronze, copper, silver or gold with gold gilding, some were made for Royal families, while others were provincially made. It was during the Ming Dynasty (1368 -1644) that a batch of these amulets found its way into Thailand and thus became so popular that Thailand also created their own amulets of this type. These miniature Buddha amulets are usually 1.5 inches tall and never over two inches, in height. Most were made with a bead or relic inside, while others were solid casting. Enjoy the beauty of the art and follow a thousand years of history and belief, about these small statues, in this full color book.
