Frans-Paul van der Putten is a research fellow at the Clingendael Institute in The Hague, Netherlands. He is the editor-in-chief of Itinerario: Journal on the History of European Expansion and Global Interaction. Chu Shulong is Professor of Political Science and International Relations at the School of Public Policy and Management and Deputy Director of the Institute of International Strategic and Development Studies at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
