She holds an Ed.D. in music and secondary education from Arizona State University, master's degree in music education from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and bachelor's degree in music education from Tennessee Technological University. Her research has appeared in various publications, including Teaching Young Children and Perspectives: Journal of the Early Childhood Music & Movement Association, among others.
