Andrea Cockett, RGN, RSCN, ENB 160 998, BSc (Hons) Child Health, PGCEA; Independent Paediatric Nurse Consultant. Andrea has spent the majority of her career working with children with cardiac disease or in intensive care environments. For nine years she was a Lecturer in Child Health at King’s College London, holding the post of joint Head of Department until 2007. Helen Day, RGN, RSCN, ENB 415, DipN, BSc (Hons) Child Health, MSc Nursing (Paediatric Advanced Nurse Practitioner); Head of Care, InVent Health Ltd. Helen’s career has been varied and she has worked in primary and secondary care settings for the NHS, independent and third sector. After working mainly in a management and educational capacity in paediatric critical care, she is now a Consultant Nurse for InVent Health Ltd, specializing in adults and children with complex needs. Her achievements include the development of one of the first paediatric critical care outreach services and writing and presenting widely on the nature of nursing and advancing nursing practice in critical care.
