Children's Classics: Anne of Green Gables (Children's Easy Classics)

Overview

When Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert want to hire an orphaned boy to help on their farm at Green Gables, they get Anne – a red-haired, freckle-faced and incredibly feisty girl. Although Anne sometimes likes to imagine that her hair is brown and that her name is Cordelia, she can’t quite picture having to be a boy full time! And what’s worse, now that she has seen Green Gables, she also can’t imagine ever leaving! Anne soon settles in to life at Avonlea but as it turns out, the real question is, are the people of Avonlea ready for Anne…? About The Easy Classics Children's Collection: A collection of ten of the most well-loved and timeless children’s stories. Fondly repackaged, adapted and illustrated to be enjoyed by readers 7+. Whether you are young or old, these stories are filled with adventure and fun! Follow Dorothy into the magical land of Oz or experience the excitement and danger of the jungle with Mowgli the man-cub; or perhaps you prefer to kick back and relax with Ratty and Mole enjoying the peace of the riverbank.

Author Information

Gemma Barder lives in Market Harborough, Leicester, with her family and a mischievous cocker spaniel. She started life working in children’s and pre-teen magazines before moving into the world of publishing. She’s now a freelance writer full time and writes activity books, treasuries, novels and storybooks for children, as well as publishing her own magazine. Gemma writes a wide range of children’s books for Sweet Cherry, with more projects in the pipeline. Grace is an illustrator from the UK. For as long as she can remember, she's had a pencil or paintbrush in her hand, and with these tools has learnt to capture the worlds and characters that find themselves dancing through her imagination. She is never without a good book, and has loved reimagining some of her favourite literary characters whilst working with Sweet Cherry Publishing. She finds her inspiration in nature, old buildings, libraries and lemon cake.
