Overview

As humanity's bloodiest conflict ends, those left behind struggle to carve a path free of its shadow, but old hates die hard. Under the weight of this new future, a former soldier and a young psionic girl fight to scrounge up enough credits to keep their meager lives on track when a figure from the past offers them a way out. All they have to do is find the remains of a once-promising enemy research project, one whose failure still shakes the souls involved to this day. Success would mean an end to all their problems, but in this universe, few things are as deceptive as an easy gig.

Author Information

Born on Moody Air Force Base in Valdosta, Georgia, and raised in rural North Carolina, W J has always searched for his place only to find it among fiction in all its forms. As a natural-born troublemaker, a few kind teachers took an interest in him and the notebooks he filled instead of paying attention in class. Together, they typed and bound his work. They entered him into the young writer's conference at a local university and from there writing became a lifelong joy. In the decades since, his life has taken unpredictable turns, eventually bringing him back to that earliest of fantasies. Now, he makes them real, with a newfound determination to share the stories swimming inside his head with the world. As a husband and a father, W J's goal now is to commit his imagination to paper and to leave something behind when the universe decides his time has come.
