OverviewOn the one hand, this work examines the reactions of children of separated or divorced parents and the new family structures that arise from their parents' separation or divorce; on the other hand, it addresses the legal aspects of divorce and aims to clarify terms such as 'custody', 'divorce by mutual consent', 'contentious divorce', 'contact arrangements' and 'visitation rights'. Based on the theory, the following research question arose: - As a teacher, how can I support children who find themselves in a crisis situation due to their parents' separation? The subsequent empirical section of the thesis is dedicated to answering this research question.
