Her honors as an author were for Listening to Our Grandmother's Stories: The Bloomfield Academy for Chickasaw Females, 1852-1949 (2000). Jeannie Barbour, Chickasaw historian, artist, and author, is active in Native American issues including protection of Southeastern tribal culture and artifacts. Her award winning illustrations and writing have been featured in exhibitions and books. David Fitzgerald is a lifelong resident of Oklahoma and a professional photographer for more than thirty years.
