Grandma and Luca are reading a bedtime story from the magic shoebox. This story is about Chickaboo and his next adventure. Chickaboo lives on Blossom Ridge with Farmer Bill. There are lots of other farm animals enjoying the sunshine: Bridie the Goat, Flossy the Sheep and Ruffy the noisy dog, all lounging around under the Jacaranda tree. Chickaboo suddenly announces he wants to go on an adventure. let's all go on the adventure with them.

Jennifer is a writer who is passionate about the story that shapes us and the imagination that allows us to create magic through story telling.Jennifer has grown up hearing stories from her Maltese family who migrated from Egypt in the early 1950's. Conversation around the table was usually in Italian, her first language but peppered with a variety of other languages as 'only that word would do'. Sometimes Greek, Maltese and Arabic words would take the stage!Her love of words and their sonority led to studies in Linguistics, Italian, French and Spanish. Jennifer has worked as an interpreter, translator and teacher. Jennifer has travelled extensively and still enjoys listening to story told in its native language.Chickaboo is Jennifer's first published work. Jennifer lives in Melbourne, in a leafy suburb and writes to the music of many cockatoos and her neighbour's chickens.
