Reviews

Mark Taylor As a chess beginner, this is the best book on chess openings that I have read. I have generally found books on openings to be unreadable because of the mass of detail they throw at the reader exploring arcane lines. Not this book - I read it from cover to cover and felt the wiser for it. Michelle E. Smith I haven't played chess in years, so got this book as a refresher. I am sure glad I did. Chess requires a lot of concentration and thinking. It takes a while to be able to play a decent game of chess. You become a good chess player by playing over and over, and you learn from your mistakes. I really liked this book. Martin Miller This is an excellent book for the beginner. It teaches concepts in a way that is easy to understand. I find myself picking it up to read and I'm not a beginner. I highly recommend this book. Steven Williams. The book explains very well all basics and also tactics of chess openings. This book is a good start for new players who want to learn openings and get their game to the next level.
