I admit I was doubtful if the books were entertaining enough to keep his interest. I am no longer in doubt. The whole family is amazed by how quickly he has learned the pieces and their moves. The book puts the game of chess in kid language. I would give a higher STAR rating if available. -- Amazon Reviewer I researched a lot before getting this set. And I made the right choice to buy this. I got this to introduce my 5 year old to chess. He just doesn't want to stop learning.
