OverviewI am regularly asked what the book of Revelation means to someone today. In order to answer those queries, I must relate the book of Revelation, written by John, to the other works written by all four ""gospel"" writers. In all four writings (Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John) Jesus has a lot to say about the end times and the final days. Jesus describes 10 separate events leading to the end times. In most cases, these are listed, in sequence, in the three synoptic gospels (Mark, Matthew and Luke). Each of these writers had a separate and concise description of what the end times would be like. John, however, separated his writings about the end times into a separate book, which he called Revelation of Jesus Christ. Apocalypse: a revelation or disclosure. Strongs Greek & Hebrew Dictionary says it is from Greek G575, (apo) and G2572 (kalupto); to take off the cover, i.e., disclose - reveal. The book of Revelation, in John's words, discloses or reveals some factors or events of the end times.: In this book, Revelations About Revelation, we are going to stick to the meaning of apocalypse as a revelation or disclosure of Jesus Christ. Why do I have the boldness to continue in this effort, so different from what many authors have written? I believe that is precisely what Almighty wants me, and you(p) to do.
