He has also worked extensively on different forms of the inorganic photovoltaic materials. Prof. Tien-Chien Jen, PhD, did Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from UCLA. He has established a Joint Research Centre with Nanjing Tech University of China on the ""Sustainable Materials and Manufacturing."" Recently, he assumed the Directorship of Centre of Competence in Atomic Layer Deposition at the University of Johannesburg. In 2011 he was elected as ASME fellow.
