Dibrugarh University initiated its journey of imparting computer education by establishing a Computer Centre in 1976. Computer Centre, D.U. created Computer awareness and trained teachers, research workers, employees in Computer Programming and Applications at that time. It also trained employees of various banks and helped in Computerization. It started Computer education by introducing a Six-month Certificate Course on Computer Programming . In 2004, it was upgraded to the Centre for Computer Studies and started Post-Graduate Diploma in Computer Application . BCA was introduced in July, 2004 and MCA and BSc were introduced in January and July, 2007, respectively.
