Author Information

Catherine Lampert, former director of the Whitechapel Art Gallery (1988–2001), has edited and contributed to numerous catalogues and books on contemporary artists over the years. She is now Visiting Professor at the University of the Arts, London. Marco Livingstone is an art historian and independent curator, with numerous publications on Pop Art, David Hockney, Patrick Caulfield, R B Kitaj, Allen Jones, Paula Rego, Jim Dine, Peter Blake, Peter Phillips, Duane Michals, Peter Kinley and many others. Brandon Taylor is Professor Emeritus of History of Art, University of Southampton, and currently Senior Research Fellow in Contemporary and Modern Art at Solent University, Southampton, and Visiting Tutor in History and Theory of Art at the Ruskin School of Art, University of Oxford.
