Author Information

Frances Beck McDonald (B.A., College of Scholastica; M.S., Mankato State University; Ph.D., University of Minnesota) is a Professor of Library Media Education at Mankato State University, MN. Dr. McDonald's involvement in intellectual freedom issues includes writing, speaking, leading workshops, and working with intellectual freedom organizations in Minnesota and nationally. She wrote both the 1983 and 1993 Minnesota Civil Liberties Union studies of censorship in Minnesota and edited the Minnesota Coalition Against Censorship Selection Policies and Reevaluation Procedures: A Workshop.
