Overview

This volume deals with the connections between exile experience and censorship mechanisms from an interdisciplinary and transnational perspective. It gathers literary and linguistic contributions that illuminate the topic from a comparative, historical, political and creative perspective. The continuities and discontinuities of exile literature research, the emergence of various forms of exile literature and censorship practices are put in relation to each other as an institutionalized form of suppression of freedom of expression and artistic freedom.
