During his lifetime, he was regarded as one of the world's leading experts on English folklore. James Stephens (1880-1950) Born in Dublin, James Stephens was known by the nickname 'Tiny Tim' due to his 4' 10"" stature. Stephens graduated as a solicitor's clerk but his Irish Nationalism saw him find work as a registrar in the National Gallery of Ireland.
