Beneath its serene exterior, the town harbours tales of unexplained murders that baffle even the keenest investigators, spectral hauntings that defy logic, and monstrous discoveries lurking just beyond the periphery of the everyday. Little Snoring is a place where the ordinary masks the extraordinary, enticing only the brave-or the foolish-to uncover its secrets. RJ Doyle has authored ten short stories between October and December 2024, with their content largely revolving around supernatural themes. The first story, Celosia Smith's Paranormal Chronicles, introduces the titular character, a recently deceased woman who interacts with minor characters-many of whom later receive their own dedicated stories within the same collection. All ten stories are set in the fictional English seaside town of Little Snoring, a place partially inspired by Lowestoft, Britain's most easterly settlement. However, only certain locations, such as the promenade or cemeteries, reflect the real-life counterpart, while the characters and events are entirely fictional. Doyle's writing style incorporates elements of verse, adding a lyrical quality to the narratives.
