Sr. Mary of the Sacred Heart Sawicki has been a member of the West Springfield, Mass. Dominican Nuns since 1964. She contributed an essay to the book, Vocation in Black and White: Dominican Contemplative Nuns Tell How God Called Them. She also is the editor of the American version of www.praedicare.com web site. She also has studied Greek and Hebrew and participated in the Dominican Theological Formation Program Studies. Sister Sacred Heart plays the recorder, flute and guitar. She has served as the treasurer for the Conference of Nuns of the Order of Preachers and provides technical support for her community. As a former softball catcher, she is an avid Red Sox fan.
