Overview

Commissioned by the Belgian Edith Cavell Commemoration Group for the Centenary of Nurse Cavell's execution, the Cavell Mass is a setting of the full text of the Mass, with a duration of twenty minutes. It is scored for SATB soli and chorus, with a small orchestra of trumpets, timpani, strings, and organ. It is based on the theme of the hymn 'Abide With Me', sung by Edith Cavell before her execution. Orchestral parts are available at www.brightmorningstar.org.
