I had a brilliant up-bringing and lived with them until I met my wife to be. I was 19 when I met Brenda, we got married a few years later and together we have three children. We have been Married for thirty-eight years and some tell me she deserves a medal for putting up with me, I will buy her one as soon as I find time. I'm now a retired Plasterer suffering from Osteoarthritis in both knees which restricts my activities. This has given me the time to write Caught on Site Confessions of a Tradesman and my previous book 'Football Rhymes of Passion' I'm a Bolton Wanderers fan and season ticket holder for too many years to mention, however, I relinquished my ticket last season as I'd had enough of watching poor football which at times got me so frustrated. I've been lucky enough to be flown down to Sky Sports studios in Isleworth near London, to represent Bolton Wanderers on Fanzone. This is where two fans of different teams sit together in a studio and commentate on the game which is broadcasted live. It's an interesting alternate to the usual commentary! I did this on many occasions. I've also appeared on an ITV Digital football quiz show called Did I Not Know That hosted by Simon O'Brien and more recently ITV Tipping Point hosted by Ben Shepherd. Both shows I returned home empty handed. Another of my passions is Real Ale. I love the different flavours of these traditionally brewed beers. I'm also a massive fan of the Micro-Breweries producing Craft Ale as well as the lovely foreign beers. My home town of Atherton has quite a decent selection of real ale pubs attracting beer drinkers from other neighbouring towns. Once every year the beer bash arrives in town.
