Overview

Author Danny Quintana presents the Hispanic voices of those who migrated after World War II from northern New Mexico, southern Colorado and old Mexico to America's cities. All Americans-except for the Native Americans-are descendants of immigrants, insists Quintana. Apart from the enslaved blacks, we all came here looking for better opportunities. And today's new wave of immigrants from Mexico is driven by the same forces. They want the employment, education, and rich culture that America offers.
