For many years, Kathy has pursued a dual career in two areas of interest, publishing and archaeology. She has edited a number of series for The Child's World and is the author of ten books: five Countries: Faces and Places (Argentina, Cuba, France, Iraq, and The United States), two new Music Makers (Cellos, Stringed Instruments), two Holiday Symbols (Christmas Trees and Halloween Jack O'Lanterns), and one Naturebook (Fleas). She has an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Anthropology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a specialty in archaeology and environmental sciences.
