Overview'From the moment I received the call about Cathy-a young girl in excruciating pain with nowhere else to turn-my life was forever changed. When I arrived at the hospital to pick her up, the scene was heartbreaking. Cathy was in agony, unable to bend her legs or back due to the enormous tumour that had consumed her entire back. The nurses who had cared for her were in tears, overwhelmed by the suffering she endured. We tried to fit her into a small car, but it was impossible. Eventually, we arranged for an ambulance, not realizing that this moment would mark the beginning of an incredible journey.'Cathy's resilience, faith, and unwavering spirit throughout her battle were nothing short of extraordinary. The strength she carried-despite the pain, the struggles, and the uncertainty-was never about our faith in her; it was about the faith she had in herself. She believed, even in her darkest moments, that she would one day overcome, that she would sit and share her story. And today, she does just that.'For anyone in need of inspiration, motivation, and encouragement, Cathy's story is one that will move you deeply. Her journey is a testament to faith, courage, and the power of hope. This book is not just a story - it's a life-changing experience. I wholeheartedly recommend it, as it has profoundly touched my own life, and I have no doubt it will do the same for you.'Brian Walusimbi Full Product DetailsAuthor: Catherine KyomugishaPublisher: AESOP Publications Imprint: AESOP Publications Dimensions: Width: 14.00cm , Height: 1.50cm , Length: 21.60cm Weight: 0.340kg ISBN: 9781914938344ISBN 10: 1914938348 Pages: 292 Publication Date: 09 May 2025 Audience: General/trade , General Format: Paperback Publisher's Status: Active Availability: Available To Order We have confirmation that this item is in stock with the supplier. She is a truly inspiring individual. Cathy had a long recovery that kept her in the hospital for many months. During this time, I got to know her well. She had many challenges that required her to find strength in herself to overcome these obstacles. She always maintained a positive attitude. After more than half a year, she was able to return home to Uganda. I know she will continue to do well in the years to come. - Dr Jed Gregory Nuchtern, Cathy's surgeonI had the opportunity to get to know Catherine in 2017. I was in Uganda for a month to see the work of the hospice. I was very impressed by everything the hospice does. We visited Catherine during one of the many home visits. It was a sunny day as usual and we drove through the dry streets to the house where Catherine lay. On the way, the hospice staff told me a little about Catherine and her case. The stories were already sad, but when I visited Catherine in her room, the sadness towards her fate increased even more. While the sun was shining outside, Catherine, 15 years old at the time, was lying on her stomach in a metal bed in her room. The huge tumour did not allow her to turn onto her back. I wondered how she got through each day here. It was a terrible sight and I felt so incredibly sorry for Catherine. From what she said, she wasn't even able to leave the building to at least enjoy the beautiful weather in the courtyard. I knew immediately that I had to do something. I immediately called a few friends in Germany and told them about the case. At the same time, I phoned a joinery in Dortmund. I wanted to help and I wanted to have a stretcher built for Catherine.Through her case, I have seen what it means to help together. That's why we founded a non-profit organization after our experience with Catherine. http: //www.weitsicht-hilft.com We help people who need help and work together. Thank you for all that we were able to experience with you and thank you for what our future together will bring.- Alf Skolik Author InformationTab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
