OverviewSometimes The Smallest Acts of Courage Change Everything. ""I laughed & I cried, and I even held my breath..."" "". . . I read the book in one day. I laughed and I cried, and I even held my breath a few times. I highly recommend you read it. It will stay with for quite some time... at least I hope it will."" Leafs_Verified Catching Baby Moses is a heartfelt story of quiet courage in the face of divorce, abandonment, and small-town injustice. Drawing from real-life experiences, this debut novel explores the strength of unlikely friendships, and the resilience found in faith. Set in a town on the edge of change, it's an interracial coming-of-age journey where expected roles are reversed-and where lessons learned on the football field and in the community church become the foundation for hope, faith, and quiet strength. A powerful and relatable read-especially for teen boys-Catching Baby Moses is told in the tradition of To Kill a Mockingbird. It's a stirring tribute to unexpected grace, enduring friendship, and the quiet bravery of doing what's right... no matter the cost. Catching Baby Moses, the third book, was more than I expected! I wasn't sure what to expect from the title of the book, but I was pleasantly surprised. I love the game of football (waiting for August can be rough for me!). This book was full of football! The main character is a teenage boy whose life you wouldn't give to your worst enemy. Through no fault of his own, he is left to basically fend for himself. The hero is a former professional football player who takes him under his wing (although reluctantly) because the boy can play football! I love the lessons each of them learns, even the most difficult lessons! (There are some lessons that make you very proud of this young man!) As with the other works by Anthony Barbera, one is drawn into the lives of each of the characters. This book is so good you wonder why someone hasn't made a movie of it yet! This is a story of honor, strength, and the intestinal fortitude of both the young man and his football mentor. I cried at the end. GREAT BOOK!
