OverviewBURNOUT, COMPASSION FATIGUE, MINISTRY EXHAUSTION ... If you intentionally follow Jesus, you've likely experienced the drain. Perhaps you feel called to your ministry and care deeply about the people you serve but face inward battles of discouragement, loneliness, and flat-out weariness. You're not alone-studies show that 9 out of 10 Christians in ministry are feeling it, too. But what if your Father wants to saturate your soul, not just use you to build His kingdom? Through personal stories and reflective practices, Corella Roberts offers six key steps to help you incorporate restorative rhythms right where you are: listen well, create safety, get personal, bring all of you, let God fight, and persevere realistically. Don't trudge through your desert, one weary day at a time. Bare your face skyward, faithful one, and catch the rain. You'll want to read this book slowly and with a journal. Whether you are weary, burned out, or simply looking for a guide to help you pay attention to the desires of your heart and to the love of our Father, you'll find Catch the Rain to be a helpful companion for the journey. ―Frances Green, Spiritual Director and Member Care Provider for Barnabas International I read Catch the Rain in a season of the Lord drawing me deeper into His love, a love I thought I had experienced but realized while reading this book just how much more He has to show me! He really met me in these pages. ―Kala, mom, missionary, Jesus-follower Author InformationBorn and raised in northern Idaho, Corella's love for books and writing developed at an early age as her imagination was her only playmate for miles. After high school, she ventured off to St. Paul, MN where she earned a degree from University of Northwestern and first heard the call to be a missionary teacher. She married her high school sweetheart, Troy Roberts, and they moved to teach in a village of about fifty people in bush Alaska. After seven years, during which time they almost gave up on missions entirely, God rekindled their desire to teach in unreached parts of the world, and they moved to Chiang Rai, Thailand. They have three spunky children, two biological and one adopted, they eat cheap Thai food to their hearts' content, and they support the amazing community of missionaries there through teaching and organizing community events. Recently, God has invited Corella to return to her passion for writing where she offers soul restoration to other weary Christians through relatable stories and reflective ways to connect with God.
