OverviewExcerpt from Catalogue of the Museum of London Antiquities The antiquities catalogued in the following pages were collected during the progress of the recent extensive alterations made in the city of London, for the purpose of widening the old, and making new streets; and also for improving the sewerage. Simul taneously, the bed of the Thames, near London Bridge, was deepened; from this latter source were obtained the bronze statuettes, many of the coins, and some other objects.
