OverviewRediscover the Magic of the Night Sky with Cassandra and the Night Sky Before artificial lights filled our world, people across cultures gazed at the night sky, weaving myths and legends that connected them to the stars. But today, most children will never see a truly dark sky—light pollution has stolen the celestial wonders that once inspired countless generations. That’s why Cassandra and the Night Sky was written—to rekindle that lost connection. This enchanting tale follows nine-year-old Princess Cassandra, who has grown up in a world without stars. When a greedy king steals the last of the sky’s shimmering lights, Cassandra stumbles upon an extraordinary secret—one that just might make her the hero her kingdom desperately needs. With the help of her friends, she embarks on a daring adventure to return the stolen stars to their rightful place and restore the magic of the night sky. Blending timeless mythology with an inspiring message about curiosity, wonder, and the beauty of the cosmos, Cassandra and the Night Sky encourages children and caregivers to step outside, look up, and rediscover the constellations. Brought to life by the mother-daughter duo Amy Jackson (Starry Sky Austin founder) and Donna Paredes, this beautifully re-released classic from Stoney Creek Publishing is a must-have for young dreamers, stargazers, and lovers of magical adventures. Amy is concerned that most of us live in light-polluted places where we can’t see our Milky Way galaxy, and she is working to change that. Amy lives in Austin, Texas, with her husband, her collection of telescopes, three daughters, two dogs, a gecko named Pepper, and a pond of fish. Donna Paredes is Amy’s mom and a talented illustrator, artist and an all-around wonderful mother. Donna always loved drawing since she was young. During her career as a registered nurse, she never stopped painting and drawing. Today, painting is her passion. Cassandra and the Night Sky’s illustrations are the first time Paredes has experimented with colored pencil, and she discovered a true love for it. She currently lives with her husband in Brenham, Texas, and enjoys her summers in Colorado. Tab Content 6Author Website:Countries AvailableAll regions |
