Dr. Yusuf Hassan is an Assistant Professor of Business Management and Programme Director (MSc IBM Programme) at Heriot-Watt University, Dubai campus. Trained at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore and a fellow of the Stockholm School of Economics, he has held academic positions across leading institutions in the UK, USA, and India. His research integrates talent management, leadership, and sport particularly in marginalized contexts such as para-sports and the gig economy, employing both qualitative and quantitative methods. Dr. Hassan has published in ABS/ABDC-ranked journals, serves on editorial boards of several international journals, and has received multiple global research and travel grants. He has presented at premier conferences including EGOS, EURAM, AOM, and ANZAM. Known for his innovative and inclusive teaching methods, he employs simulations, gamification and popular culture-based learning to enhance student engagement. In recognition of his contributions, he has received numerous academic honors, including the Inclusion Champion Award and multiple Emerging Scholar Awards. Beyond academia, he has served in consulting and advisory roles across the UAE, India and Singapore, and continues to champion inclusive pedagogy and ethical leadership in business education.
