Dr. Youssef Elhaoussine is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Management at the Faculty of Business and Management, Beijing Normal–Hong Kong Baptist University. With a solid interdisciplinary background in science and business, he holds a Ph.D. in Corporate Entrepreneurship from Sun Yat-sen University, a Master’s in Marketing Management from Cranfield University (UK), a BSc in Applied and Analytical Chemistry from Edinburgh Napier University (UK), and a Technical Diploma in Physics–Chemistry from Université de Reims (France). Before joining academia, He worked in industrial manufacturing in China and Europe, managing production and quality control in the printer-consumables sector. This combination of scientific training and operational experience shapes his approach to teaching.He teaches business ethics, sustainability, and industrial management, integrating real industrial contexts, applied case studies, and AI-supported learning methods to strengthen student independence. He is regularly invited by the French Chamber of Commerce in China and French Tech China to share insights as an industrial and academic expert and serves as Co-Chair for International Development at the Asia Pacific Marketing Academy. Dr. Edoardo Monaco is an international development and sustainability specialist based in China, serving as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU). Originally from Italy, over the past 20 years he has worked and conducted research across Asia, the Pacific, and beyond, exploring the “innovation-growth-nature” interplay and actively promoting holistic development governance via sustainable resource management, social inclusion, and economic diversification. His main focus lies on the development trajectories of landlocked developing countries (LLDCs), least developed countries (LDCs), and small island developing states (SIDS). Dr. Monaco frequently contributes to global media outlets and regularly consults for prominent firms, international organisations and think tanks. He is currently a Research Fellow of the United Nations Multi-Country Office (UNMCO) in Micronesia, a Senior Advisor to, among others, the World Green Design Organisation (WGDO), as well as a Member of the IUCN Commission on Environmental, Economic and Social Policy (CEESP) and of the Chinese chapter of the Club of Rome. Dr. Selçuk Çolakoğlu is currently an Associate Professor in the Globalization and Development Program and the Associate Head of the Department of Social Sciences at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU) in Zhuhai, China. Previously, he served as a faculty member at Hankuk University of Foreign Studies (HUFS) in Seoul, South Korea. In Turkey, Dr. Çolakoğlu held several administrative roles at Adnan Menderes University, including Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Chair of the Department of International Relations, and Director of the Graduate School of Social Sciences. He has also lectured at other prominent Turkish universities, such as Ankara University, the Middle East Technical University, Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Pamukkale University, and the Izmir University of Economics. Dr. Çolakoğlu has been a visiting research fellow at the Korea Foundation in Seoul, the Near East and South Asia (NESA) Center for Strategic Research at the National Defense University in Washington, D.C., and the Korea Institute for International Economic Policy (KIEP) in Sejong. Beyond academia, he has served as an advisor to the Center for Strategic Research (SAM) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey and as Vice President of the International Strategic Research Organization (USAK). Additionally, he is the Founding Director of the Turkish Center for Asia-Pacific Studies (APAC) and a member of the Scientific Committee of EURISPES – Institute of Political, Economic, and Social Studies in Rome, Italy. His research interests include Foreign Policy, International Security, Globalization, Global Governance, the G20, and the BRICS. Dr. Michal Vavřík is a sociologist and Assistant Professor in the Globalisation and Development Programme of the Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU). He is interested in quantitative applications in comparative social research with particular focus on social and economic history, especially the intersections between kinship, culture, politics, and development. At BNBU Dr. Vavřík teaches courses in social science research methods, development studies, and political science.
