"The first edition of this book provided students with those cases which are most commonly referred to in their courses. This second edition has been updated to cover a number of new cases, in particular ""Murphy v Brentwood District Council"" and also includes a new chapter on liability for defective structures. The law of torts is based almost entirely on case law and therefore a thorogh knowledge of the leading cases is essential if the student is to understand the subject. This selection has been based on the standard cases and the extracts attempt to provide the essence of the reasoning and the decision. Stautory materials are included where necessary. Richard Kidner has also written ""Blackstone's Statutes on Employment Law"", ""Trade Union Law"" and ""Trade Unions""."
