Overview

A wordless fable about finding your place in the world. It's business as usual at the residence of Titus and his motley crew: Champagne baths, reckless scientific experimentations, and a bit of casual littering. It's all fun and games, until their house decides it has had enough and goes looking for a better life... leaving the gang without a place to call their own! Will Titus and his friends find a new home, or convince their old one to come back? From the big city to the frozen wastes, this magical adventure follows our heroes on their quest for a place to call home. Thom shows an ever-growing mastery of visual storytelling in this brilliant follow-up to his award-winning debut VII. Once again eschewing words altogether, the Montreal-based author channels the chaotic yet precise slapstick of Chuck Jones' Looney Tunes while infusing it with a subtle sense of existential dread. Perfect for fans of Jim Woodring's Frank comics.

""In just two albums, Thom has managed to establish himself as one of the most interesting and unique voices of his generation."" --Jean-Dominic Leduc, Journal de Montréal ""The dark, slapstick humor... [adds] a layer of absurdity to an already twisting story that's a joy to return to... just like home."" --Mathieu Roy, BDQG

Author Information

Thom (Thomas Blais-Leblanc) was born in Montréal in 1993. He’s been drawing comics since an early age, and many of his characters have been following him around for years. He studied cartooning at UQO, and it was during his final year at school that he started work on the wordless graphic novelVII, which became the first of his ""Silent Fables"" series and went on to win the prestigious Réal-Fillion Award for Best Debut in 2018. His most recent book is Botanica Drama, which was nominated for the Quebec Booksellers Prize amongst other awards. When asked what he loves to draw the most, Thom answers without hesitation ""animals,"" which will come as no surprise to his readers.
