Each issue of Carrier Pigeon #18 Volume 5 Issue 2 includes 1 of 4 limited edition embossed prints from an edition of 250 as well as a paper sculpture by Armando Guiller. In keeping with Carrier Pigeon tradition, this issue is complete with six illustrated works of short fiction including [i](Soma)tic Poetry[/i] by CAConrad with illustrations by Roberto Visani; The Diner by Benjamin Sheppard, illustrated by Bruno Nadalin; Our Last Show by Chris Tsakis, illustrated by Carlos DeMedeiros; The Last Redemption of Bill by Nick Kolakowski, illustrated by Hartwick Hanson; After the Wish by Sarah Abbot, illustrated by Aubrey Caroll and The American Homeland Preservation Society by Aaron Garretson, illustrated by Yuqi Pan. Matt Barteluce is a New Jersey native and amateur ufologist. He is an artist, illustrator and graphic designer who received his BFA in 2003 from Maryland Institute College of Art and his MFA in 2010 at the School of Visual Arts. Until 2014 he worked as an art director for Young & Rubicam Group, a worldwide advertising agency. During that time he co-founded 'Carrier Pigeon', a quarterly fine art and literature magazine with a group of peers. He is currently director of Guttenberg Arts, a 501c3 non profit arts organization. As Guttenberg Arts director he acts as an advocate for artists helping them achieve their fullest potential. Guiller was born in Havana, Cuba in 1961. He initially studied mechanical engineering at the Institute of Technology MOA, Santiago de Cuba. In 1987, he received a B.A. with a specialization in sculpture from the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in Havana. After immigrating to the United States, he worked for over a decade as a mechanical engineer, designing parts and processes for General Motors and Cadillac, as well as working internationally. He has pursued the arts full-time since 2000 and he has exhibited his work at Ringling Museum of Arts, FL; the Dactyl Foundation, NYC; Lehman College Art Gallery, NYC, and recently had a major Solo show at William Paterson University Gallery. His work is also included in numerous private collections in Florida, New York, Ohio, as well as in France and Mexico. Recently, he has been using a CNC mill and 3D printer in his studio to create his newest series titled ""Euclidean Works,"" which are inspired by the Golden ratio and investigate how to reconcile a curve with a line.
